![]() ![]() The Simon you drew that is not walking looks way too much of a slacker then an "immature young dude". If you need more exact reference because it's hard to reference those pixels to a drawing I suggest you have a look at Simon 3D they got the bratty immature look pretty nicely. You just CANNOT make him without the pony tail, Also something is off with his nose seems just way too big ( i suggest you reference Simon 2 for the looks as much as you can because this is when simon was at his prime) I don't mean to be rude but we don't want you to make a new character we want the old Simon we used to love, The newer Simon's didn't do justice to the first and second (3D was just had some weird looking graphics and concept) Also preferably with no beard, But if the concept is that he has grown you can give him a bit of a bristle look. So freaking exciting to see Simon going back to 2D !! And about the drawing of the character. Those are the people you are catering for Do you have any screenshots of the gameplay? But honestly, you need to find the Simon The Sorcerer community. Do you think this is an improvement? Does it feel more like an older Simon who is still pretty much the same sarcastic, immature slacker? I would say so yes. Something that looks like a Simon would feel. What most gamers seem to agree though is on its personality traits and even some of his hobbies. Since the art from Simon 1 and 2 was still very imprecise in terms of character face details (because of the nature of that style of pixel art), and the depiction of Simon there was so different from Simon's Pinball, and all of these so different from Simon's 3D and its concept art and even more different from Simon 4th and 5th.well, how his face looks it's pretty much floating somewhere in our collective conciousness. One of the biggest challenges so far it's that, IMO, everybody has a different perception on how Simon looks. This is one the sketches our concept artist has created, depicting two different type of hairstyles cause we also need some help with that decision. « Last Edit: August 29, 2014, 09:53:10 AM by storybeasts »Īfter the timid reception of our Simon design, we've been working on some new options evaluating all the feedback we've gotten. ![]() Do you think this is an improvement? We want to hear from the players (and developers) what they think of what we have for now, we've shown the screenshot in different forums and we've been receiving tons of feedback, very positive about the background but not so much about the characters but people don't really give specifics, we'd appreciate input from other artists and developers as to what they think of the scene in general. Just today we announced the title of the game and a first screenshot, the game is in pre-alpha version right now. We're going back to the roots of the genre and from the first two games with 2D graphics, the best received by the fans, going back to the british humor that made it so special.
